Fun on the Fourth

I can't believe that the 4th of July is already over! I really can't believe that next year on the 4th I will have a nearly 3 year old AND an almost 1 year old. That seems crazy. I was looking back through my pictures of Grayson last 4th of July and I can't believe how much he has changed!
Isn't that crazy?! He looks so tiny!

Ben had the whole day off this year which was so nice. I love a random Wednesday that he is home! We live in a HUGE neighborhood & every year there is a big 4th of July parade for the kids. They bring in a fire truck to lead the parade (G's dream come true!), kids decorate their bikes, & they have food. I was so excited that Grayson was actually old enough to enjoy it this year! We I decorated one member of his fleet (it's actually his best friend Gray's car because hers has a seatbelt-ha!) and made it all patriotic for the parade.

Y'all, this parade started at 9:00 and it was H O T. I still can't get over this ridiculous heat wave. I made sure to find every shady spot in the clubhouse parking lot to stand in while we waited.
Once the firetruck arrived, all the kids got hats...G switched out his sunglasses for the hat pretty quickly. He loves a big ol' firetruck & kept saying "wooo woooo" like a siren.
G was intrigued with all the people, decorated bikes, and of course the big firetruck. He is such an observer!
Before lunch we stopped by the Franklin on the Fourth festival to check it out. Last year it was in downtown Franklin & this year it was at Harlinsdale Farm. We weren't as impressed as last year, however, they did have a petting zoo! I got to pet a llama (I died and went to Heaven) & G was fascinated by the rooster. He had no interest in the llama, goats, or sheep...but LOVED this rooster. Go figure!

We ate at Puckett's Boat House in downtown Franklin afterwards...locals, check this new place out! It was SO good!
After a very short lame naptime the three of us headed to a friend's house to eat dinner & let the kids play! We didn't make it to any of the fireworks shows....G was SO tired when we left at 8:30! I'm forcing us to go next year..it's been 3 years since I've seen good fireworks!

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July!

How fun!! His parade "float" turned out so cute!

Do you remember where you got his firetruck outfit??

Is the Puckett's Boat house similar to "regular" Puckett's??

Oh my gosh he is so cute and that parade is awesome!
My sister's neighborhood in Nashville also had a parade and she said everyone was melting!
