You know you're old when...

..furniture REALLY makes you happy!!!

The one room that has been always been completely empty (minus boxes of wedding china) in our new house was our dining room. We had it painted this summer...bought some pictures to hang in there...and it still stayed empty. Ben & I have been to every furniture store around here looking for dining room sets & we came to one conclusion: there is A LOT of ugly furniture in this world! I have been searching Craigslist for quite some time & everything I ask about is already sold. Boo, craigslist. (By the way, who is Craig and why does he have a list?)
Well, I have always wanted a farm style table. I really wanted one for our kitchen but they are just too big. I call them pilgrim tables. I actually found a wholesale store this weekend in Green Hills that sold my beloved farm tables & they were not ridiculously expensive! HOORAY! I went on Monday & bought a table for the dining room, 6 chairs, and a flippin' cute red foyer table. 2 words: in love. Seriously, after lugging the 500lb table inside (and almost dying...) I jumped up and down for joy. Is that sad?
Isn't she so cute?
Table, meet mustard dining room. Dining room, meet pilgrim table.

This was a total fly-by-the-seat-of-Loma's-pants purchase. Once again, love it.
This makes me feel old! But I don't really care. I love the feeling of my home becoming complete:) Happy Hump Day!

Weekend Recap

This weekend was great! It was our Fall Break & I got a 3 day weekend--awesome!

My parents came up on Friday to hang out & go to the UGA/Vandy game. On Friday, we went to our favorite little spot in Franklin...The Greek Cafe! Ben & I frequent this place...they know our order as soon as we walk in. Does that mean we go there too often? Haha! We watched a movie and just relaxed on the couch when we got back. However, relaxing is hard when there are four dogs in the house!! That's right, I said four! Hank made the trip with my parents & added to our daily chaos:) Many, many, MANY laps were run around the couch this weekend! We live in a zoo!

Saturday, my parents went to the game while Ben & I stayed home. Winter came early this weekend & it was freezing! I'm glad we didn't get tickets. Georgia won--Go Dawgs! My cousin Patrick, who lives in Nashville & I never see, texted me on Friday & said his parents were coming in town too. So, on Saturday night the Moore fam gathered at Macaroni Grill. It is so funny because Patrick and I live 25 minutes away from eachother here & our parents live about 2 miles away from each other in Marietta....yet we all had to be in Franklin to get together!

Sunday was spent in Leiper's Fork. This is by far my favorite area of Franklin. It is out in the country & is BEAUTIFUL! Ben & I drive around out there all the time & dream about owning land some day:) We ate at Puckett's, drove around, and went in the little shops. I even saw a llama farm!!!! I only took 2 pictures this weekend (lame) because I always forget to get out my camera!

Me & my sweet hubby on our porch swing--we are offically front porch sitters!!
Me, Mom, & Dad
It was a great LONG weekend! I wish every weekend was like this--back to reality tomorrow!

Sunday Seven

Seven Good Things About My Week
1. I had something to look forward to all week: fall break! I have tomorrow off & Tuesday is just a teacher work day. By mid-October, I need a long weekend!
2. My parents came up on Friday. :) We had a GREAT weekend!! (more on that to come..)
3. It is officially FALL weather! It has been so cold here and I love it. The leaves are starting to change colors & I am busting out all my scarves and sweaters:)
4. I perfected my coffee today. I can cook....but I could never make coffee. Today, I made the perfect cup! I am pleased with myself. Oh, the simple pleasures...
5. I got to see my long lost cousin (who lives in the same city!) and my aunt & uncle last night. Always fun!
6. I started burning fall candles. Yum.
7. I think we have found a dining room set on Craigslist. We are looking at it tomorrow morning...I will keep you posted!

Hotty Toddy!

We had visitors this weekend! Ole Miss played Vanderbilt so some of the Mississippi boys came in town for the game & stayed with us. It was so fun! I was tired all weekend...can't hang with the big boys anymore I guess!
Friday night we went out to eat at the Cajun Steamer. We came home afterwards & when the guys decided they were heading downtown at 10:30...I opted out. Ha...Seriously? Way past my bed time!!
On Saturday I made a big breakfast & we headed to the tailgate at 2:00. It felt like college again..except we all felt old! The rebels won--Hotty Toddy!!
Here are Collin & Matt on they way downtown...
Ryno & Coco...I know they are so fond of these nicknames:)
Downtown at the tailgate in Ian's glorious setup! A grove away from home.
I look really short in this picture. It weirds me out.
It was a great weekend! Ben loved having his "besties" in town..haha. Come back soon, boys!!! Can't wait to be in the GROVE in November for the Tennessee game. Go Rebels!!
