5 on Friday

1. Grayson has been acting really fussy for about a week & acting like his little tummy hurt. I took him to the pediatrician on Wednesday & he gave us a new (uber expensive, of course) hypoallergenic formula. So far it has helped some...although I still think he has acid reflux. I'm happy to have my smily baby back! :)

2. These 2 boys make me very happy. I love watching Ben with Grayson. He loves his little man.
3. I got to see my friends this week! I took Grayson up to school for a baby shower. He was perfect and slept through the whole thing. I miss seeing these girls every day!

4. I finally got my fall decorations out. My house smells like pumpkin pie. The weather has been amazing. I cannot say this enough..I love fall!

5. We should be getting Grayson's newborn pictures back today or tomorrow...SO excited!! Can't wait to get started on birth announcements!

We went to my favorite little market in downtown Franklin this afternoon. They always have the best pumpkins and it's where I get all my fun blue, white, and fairytale pumpkins. Yes, there really are fairytale pumpkins!

I love all of the colors of fall...I need to start getting out our fall decorations!

Of course this year I got to bring my very own little pumpkin to the market!

As you can see, he was fascinated.

He just hung out in mama's sling.

i'm lovin' it

I saw this list on someone else's blog & decided to copy it...especially since my brain seems to only be thinking in list form these days...

• I'm loving the fact that Grayson slept for 2 hours in his crib this afternoon & let me clean the whole upstairs!
• I'm loving this cooler weather.
• I'm loving sitting in my rocking chair on the front porch enjoying the cooler weather.
• I'm loving that all my dogs are clean.
• I'm loving the new monkey crocheted hat that Carl sent Grayson--so cute!
• I'm loving the pumpkin froyo at Sweet Cece's:)
• I'm loving the idea of taking pictures of Grayson at the pumpkin patch on Saturday!....and of course buying all my fun pumpkins, too!
• I'm loving the smell of the dreft...mmm baby smell:)
• I'm loving Thursday night television: Project Runway, The Office, Outsourced, AND Jersey Shore. Thank goodness for DVR!
• I'm loving my fall scented candles.
• I'm REALLY loving fall!

Meet Alex & Phil...two of my favorite people from high school. They got married one month before Ben & I got hitched!

You may remember them from a post I did this summer. When Phil finishes dental school in May, they are planning to move to Nashville...so pumped about that! I just had to share their exciting news because...well, I am so excited I can't stand it! They are having a BABY BOY in March!! Moving to Nashville with a baby boy?! Does it get any better??!! Woohoo!!

BUT, for now, I just had to share his sweet face during "naked time" yesterday.
He laid like this for 30 minutes.

I predict by the weekend he will be holding his head up. Gosh. He must be gifted!

We made a cute baby. That's all there is to it!

my how life has changed.

It is amazing how different my life is today compared to 2 weeks ago. 2 weeks ago exactly I was just now getting to the hospital wondering if I was in actual labor...praying that I was! These are the things I've learned in the past 2 weeks:

• I despise throw up. Ben has always been the dog throw-up cleaner-upper. I gag when I look at it. Who would have thought that I could handle having nasty milk spit-up all over me & not even care? Guess it helps that the person projectile vomiting on me has some serious cuteness going on.
• My child is like a pee pee houdini with his diaper. No matter how tight we get his diaper, Grayson leaks everywhere. I thought I would be changing his clothes a lot because it's fun to play dress-up with babies...not because he pees on 5 outfits a day. We are getting a lot of use out of all our clothes!
• I will never make fun of anybody who does laundry everyday again. My name is Laura and I wash baby laundry and our clothes everyday. This 9 pounder goes through a ridiculous amount of clothing/burp cloths/blankets/etc!
• The middle of the night feedings aren't that bad. I like that quiet bonding time I get with my blonde baby:)
• I am a terrible napper. I don't sleep when Grayson sleeps during the day. Ben is a professional napper. I'm jealous.
• I love this little boy more than anything in the world. I knew that I would fall in love with him the moment that I saw him...I just didn't realize how intense it would be! He is so perfect & I can't imagine our life without him.

...and last night was Grayson's first bath.

Poor little guy hated it!

He used his really strong lungs to tell us just how angry he was.

But there is nothing that a snuggly towel can't fix...

...and having naked baby time:)
