the terrible ones

I'm afraid that with the 14 month milestone, we hit the terrible twos ones. Remember the pout? Seriously, as if you could ever forget that pout. BUT, in case you did, here it is again...
Ha! That picture never gets old.

Anyways, we are still dealing with the pout on a regular basis. We have also added some major tantrums and things of that sort lately. Fun. Not.

When G woke up from his morning nap earlier this week we headed out the door to go to Publix. Only The Toddler didn't want to go to Publix. The Toddler wanted to run to the Christmas tree & yank ornaments off. hmph. I open the door and try to put him in his carseat. Try being the keyword. I failed. He got stiff as a board, screamed, and would not bend his legs to sit down. Toddler - 1 / Mama - 0

Another morning during the past week we took our beverages upstairs to play in the bonus room. I had my coffee & G had his ice water. I am no longer able to put my coffee within my reach because it will most certainly get stolen by a certain child. SO, I take a sip and then set it up high on our banister. Grayson runs over to the banister, reaches up, and goes "Meh?". "Meh" means "I need to have this IMMEDIATELY or I will throw a fit." I said no & I'm sure you can guess what happened next. Grayson slammed his hands into the wall & then flung his head back on purpose & proceeded to fall. Again, on purpose. Toddler - 2 /Mama - 0

I'm going to think positive & assume that because these tantrums started early, maybe they will be gone by age 2? Yes? Ha! Wishful thinking. Between Grayson's lack of fear & these head-banging (literally) tantrums, Toddlerhood is most likely going to give me gray hairs.

  1. Been there, done {still doing} that. Kendall is a fit thrower too, girl can pout with the best of them, although G's pout is THE BEST! I can say within the past week or so J and I have both notice a huge difference for the better. She's been a lot less demanding which means less tantrums. It's been nice. Hopefully this is a phase and we'll all get through it, not without the help of a glass of wine or two ;-)

  2. So there with you Laura...all of it. Even the "on purpose" stuff. I was on the phone with my mom earlier, and he proceeded to bang his forehead on the dining room table and then "cry" for me. All the while I saw him test it out once before the "real" one. HAHA

  3. Man, Cham is doing the same thing- Laying on the floor of the clothing store on her back kicking her legs and screaming, banging on the pantry door screaming COOKIE!, and tears for days. Isn't it so sad? It'll be done by two, I know it!!!

  6. I cannot handle the cuteness that is the pout. His lip could not get any further out! Sounds like G is keeping momma on her toes!
